Marriott International :: AV Equipment planning and training platform
Marriott International is one of the world’s largest hotel chains. Every facility offerers conference rooms, guest business centers, or grand ballrooms for major events. When planning the build new destination, or remodeling an existing site, every facet of cost must be factored and budgeted – including Audio- Video equipment. The challenge they face is that when budgeting for specific projectors, speakers, soundboards, computers, etc, by the time the property is built or refurbished, the original equipment is often superseded or worse, discontinued.
This made maintaining an up-to-date and accurate inventory and budget a very time consuming and tedious task – imagine having to manually scan through hundreds of inventory lists to find outdated items and replace then with the specifications and prices of the new versions – nightmare!
Working directly with Marriott’s technology partner MVP International, our team set about designing a web based application that would enable Marriott’s AV planning team to assemble an AV equipment list for a property from a catalogue of approved devices. When the AV procurement team became aware of a new or upgraded version of a specific device, they would enter the information and trace to the item being superseded. The system would then search and replace the item in all inventory lists and update the budgeted prices based on the number of units specified for the property.
